    We are currently seeking a skilled Estimator with expertise in roofing and cladding to join our team in Wallingford.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for roofing and cladding projects, contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities:

    **Estimating: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing and cladding projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.


    Tendering:

    Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements and scope of work, liaising with clients, architects, and engineers as necessary.


    • Quantity Take-off: Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications, identifying materials and quantities required for each project component.

    Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison:

    Source and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, services, and specialized components, negotiating prices and terms to achieve cost savings.


    Cost Analysis:

    Analyse project costs, pricing structures, and market trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering, proposing alternative solutions where applicable.


    Risk Assessment:

    Identify and assess project risks and uncertainties, including technical, commercial, and contractual risks, and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively.


    Bid Preparation:

    Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender submissions, including detailed breakdowns of costs, schedules, and project methodologies, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.


    Contract Review:

    Review and analyse contract terms and conditions, highlighting potential risks and liabilities, and recommending amendments or modifications as necessary to protect the company's interests.


    Documentation:

    Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, bids, quotations, and correspondence, adhering to company procedures and document control systems.


    Team Collaboration:

    Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to review project requirements, discuss technical solutions, and develop cost-effective strategies for project delivery.


    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
    • Proven experience as an Estimator in the roofing and cladding industry, with a strong track record of successful project estimation and tendering.
    • Indepth knowledge of roofing and cladding materials, systems, and installation techniques, including metal roofing, composite panels, and insulation.
    • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or ConEst, and Microsoft Excel for quantity takeoff and cost analysis.
    • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
    • Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards and regulations.
    • Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites and attend client meetings as required
