    My client has an exciting advisor opportunity to join an inspiring company within the health, safety, and wellbeing sector.

    This will be a varied role in a busy team of safety advisors within their technical department who are responsible for advising clients on how to comply with all health and safety legislation, prescribe their company policies and practices and ensure they are adhered to where applicable.

    Health & Safety Advisor Responsibilities

    The role is predominantly office based (hybrid working is possible) in their Wolverhampton head office, but where applicable you may be required to travel to any location our clients are working and carry out site inspections or attend meetings.

    As part of this role, you will be expected to provide a support role to various duty holders under CDM 2015 such as Clients, Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and Contractors. Therefore, experience in a construction environment would be beneficial. In addition, as a Health & Safety Advisor you will also be required to:

    · Advise upon safe working practices.

    · Advise on current trends or news.

    · Carry out risk assessments and provide effective control measures.

    · Formulate policies, systems and procedures.

    · Carry out contractor and documentation vetting.

    · Produce Pre-construction Information, Construction Phase H&S Plans and other site-based documentation.

    · Carry out systematic site inspections where required to support the site services team.

    Health & Safety Advisor Experience

    You will learn a good general knowledge of construction and the application of health and safety legislation in the workplace. Further-more you should:

    · Possess a minimum of either the NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate

    · Be prepared to work towards an NVQ 5 in Occupational Health and Safety (if not already obtained)

    · Be prepared to work towards Chartered Membership of IOSH

    · Maintain your knowledge of new legislation, codes of practice, guidance (including environmental) and industry best practice.
