    Oxon Park are currently recruiting for a Senior CNC Miller/CADCAM Programmer to join a well established precision engineering based in Welwyn Garden City


    Our client are subcontractor specialists delivering high quality and consistent service to a range of sectors including Defence, Space, Aerospace, Motor Sport Oil & Gas and Medical.


    They specialise and deliver high precision components and are First Tier Suppliers to our UK and Global Client base, and have been doing so successfully since 1995.

    Therefore, an exciting opportunity has arisen.


    In this role, you will be responsible for setting and proving out CNC programs to produce precise and high-quality machining parts.

    The candidate should possess a strong attention to detail and be able to interpret technical drawings effectively.


    Reporting directly to the CADCAM CNC Programmer Cell Leader, this position is responsible for ensuring delivery excellence and creating opportunities by supplying precision components to our UK and Global Client Base.


    This role would suit someone who has technical experience within 5 Axis production methodology's, preferably worked on Mazak i600 series machines, but not essential.

    The candidate may have equivalent knowledge and experience on other systems, but, must possess excellent setting, proving and operating skills, whilst having 1st principle knowledge of modern tooling/fixturing and machining techniques.


    Within the role there is a requirement for the individual to be proactive, driven and motivated with exceptional organisation skills, also, the ability to manage and prioritise workload, and ensuring parts are manufactured to the highest quality.

    Roles and Responsibilities


    • Prove, Set and Operate CNC 5 Axis Horizontals and Vertical Milling Machining Centres.
    • Identify correct CNC program, tooling and download programs to the CNC machines.
    • Make program amendments during prove out to achieve the appropriate efficiency, quality and dimensional accuracy. Modifications to programs or tooling changes must be recorded and reported to your line supervisor and saved to the correct database location.
    • Programming using Hypermill
    • Create setup sheets and tool lists.
    • Any dimensional inaccuracy's should be reported to your line supervisor or QC department.
    • Communicate with other shop floor, machinists/operators and engineering to achieve solutions to improve quality levels.
    • Ensure that all equipment you use is maintained and can be used/operated at all times.
    • Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures,
    • Immediately report problems/quality issues to your line supervisor Embrace, champion, role-model and uphold the culture, values and behaviours that drive the achievement of the organisation's ambitions and goals.
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment
    • Support and liaise with various departments, including but not limited to Engineering, Workshop, Procurement, Sales, QA/QC and HS&E.
    Requirements


    The following attributes are essential:

    • An Engineering apprenticeship relating to this discipline, working knowledge of 5 axis Horizontals and Vertical Milling Machining Centres and extensive experience in a similar role.
    • Have a methodical and planned approach, good communication skills, positive attitude and willing to accept and drive change.
    • Must be able to perform standard shop computations (applying geometry and trigonometry) relating to angular and linear dimensions of work, tooling, and speeds and feeds of machining.

    Hours of work Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30 pm
