Description

We are looking for a strong team player with natural relationship building skills, confident working in cross -functional business partnerships.


A keen eye for quality and specification with experience in the Local Authority process for reinstatement defects is also essential.

This role would be perfect for a Local Authority Street Works Inspector with a desire to progress their career by joininga great company.


To be successful in this role you familiar with all aspects of telecom civils network builds and hold an in depth knowledge of the Safety at Street Works and Road Works - A Code of Practice (Red Book), the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openingsin Highways - 4th Edition (SROH) and street works permitting processes.


Day to day activities will include:
Proving guidance on civils build, client specification, and NRASWA/SROH legislation to site operations staff.


Undertake and record audits for SLG, backfill/reinstatement and telecom network civils installation compliance, across all stages of civils network installation.

Promote and oversee real time corrective action on recorded street works shortfalls.

Promote Health & Safety at work.

Deliver minor network and NRASWA/SROH related training packages to internal staff and partners.

Attend internal, client, and Local Authority meetings to build sound and sustainable relationships.

Liaise with Local Authorities, attend JSI's and oversee reinstatement defect reduction.

Influence and promote consistent improvement, quality, and performance.

Support the Street Works Manager & Head of Street Works Performance and Compliance.


Strong IT literacy, good knowledge of Microsoft packages, confident in writing, reporting and presenting audit and other data and other required information at all levels is a minimum requirement for this role as is a methodical, positive can-do team workingattitude to positively influence others.


The successful applicant requires:

  • A Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
BT Openreach or similar craft and safety accreditations (Smart Awards/NOPs an advantage)

NRASWA accreditation - Supervisor

Experience of UG telecom networks

Experience of Civils installations

Knowledge of Street Works Permitting

Complete knowledge of the NRASWA and SROH (SLG and Backfill/Reinstatement)

Knowledge of the Local Authority Defects process (Code of Practice for Inspections)

Good communication and I.T. skills with a professional attitude
