    Description

    We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a Primary School in the Loughborough area.

    This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.

    It is a full-time position with the right candidate an opportunity to go permanent.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide one-on-one support to a student with SEND, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
    • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans.
    • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate the unique learning styles and abilities of the student.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional development of the student.
    • Assist with classroom activities and facilitate the student's integration into group activities whenever possible.
    • Monitor the student's progress, record observations, and provide feedback to the class teacher and relevant professionals.
    • Work closely with parents and caregivers, providing updates on the student's progress and offering support and guidance.
    • Implement behaviour management strategies and provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the student.

    Requirements:

    • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a school or educational setting.
    • Strong knowledge of various SEND conditions, learning difficulties, and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
    • Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and professionals.
    • A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the student.
    • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistant roles are desirable but not essential.
    • An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
