    Lanpro is a market leadingmultidisciplinary consultancy who specialise in Planning Design andthe Environment.

    The company works on projects atall scales within town semirural and rural contexts across avariety of sectors that includes residential historic sites andestates renewable energy and mixeduse commercialdevelopments.

    As part of our growth andforever evolving proposition we are looking for an AssociateDirector level to join their highly efficient and growing Planningteam. Applicants for this role will work on projects throughout theUK but with the core workload currently coming in from Cambridgeand the Eastern region it would be ideal if you were suitablylocated in Norwich.

    JobPurpose

    As an Associate Directoryou will take a leadership role on planning projects andcoordinating and overseeing projects. You will be an ambassador forthe company undertaking business development through building uponexisting client relationships and actively seeking opportunitiesfor future business whilst also taking a leadership role indeveloping the teams core competencies assisting the RegionalDirector in the daytoday management of the team and undertakingdirect line management responsibilities as directed by the RegionalDirector.

    • Demonstrateseffective management and the ability to influence and persuadeacross a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
    • Helps to ensure all members of the team areeffectively developed and is committed to personal CPD in pursuitof continuous learning and selfimprovement.
    • Inputs into team objectives and delegateseffectively.
    • Demonstrates effective managementof staff and direct reports not solely on a project basis.
    • Takes responsibility for line managementcoaching mentoring training wellbeing and the performancemanagement of more junior employees.
    • Assistsin the technical development of staff coaching and mentoring ontechnical issues and assisting with others gaining professionalaccreditation.
    • Participates in appraisals formore junior employees.

    • Champions theLanpro client centric agenda internally and externally.
    • Establishes consolidates and builds onrelationships with new and existing clients and colleagues.
    • Ensures client expectations are managedappropriately and that their needs are identified and met (orexceeded).
    • Provides technical input intoprojects and bids and uses technical knowledge to identify andrealise new client opportunities.

    Defining our future

    • Responsible for negotiating major contracts withcustomers/clients and or suppliers/contractors including managinglegal and contractual aspects.
    • Developsbusiness opportunities with new and existing clients with little orno support and demonstrates excellent judgement and ability intargeting strategic and profitable jobs.
    • Makesdecisions at a tactical level with some strategic input to overallfunctional strategy and regional Business Plan.
    • Freedom to make decisions affecting thefunction within the overall business strategy.
    • Has a strong professional profile andreputation both internally and within the industry and utilisesthis effectively to leverage business opportunities.

    Delivering ourprojects

    • Day to day linemanagement of junior team members to ensure effective utilisationof team members and delivery of project outcomes.
    • Performs a challenging range and variety ofcomplex technical and professional activities in the pursuit ofproject excellence.
    • Ensures compliance andadherence to all applicable SHEQ procedures for self and others.
    • Takes a key role in projects within relevantspecialist field.
    • Manages the delivery ofspecialised components of projects.
    • Projectmanaging a mix of large and complex planning submissions
    • Project managing planning appeals includingappearing at appeal hearings and/or as an expert witness at appealinquiries.
    • Performing strategic planningresearch and policy development including assessments ofdevelopment potential.
    • Undertaking siteinspections and assessing the merits of proposals.
    • Giving guidance to engineers/architects on theproduction of drawings and supplementary information in relation toplanning submissions.
    • Providing strategicproject management input including financial management.
    • Providing senior leadership within thePlanning Division
    • Maintaining continuingprofessional development in accordance with the requirements of theRTPI.

    Qualifications &Experience

    • An RTPIaccredited degree or Masters in a related discipline
    • A chartered member of the Royal Town PlanningInstitute.
    • Will have spent considerable timeworking in the planning industry ideally including some experienceof working in the private sector and experience of directlymanaging staff or leading a team.

    • Excellent report writing with a naturalability to explain and discuss planning issues for a variedaudience.
