Alfred's Club - Receptionist

(Permanent, Full-Time)

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our company.

You will coordinate front-desk activities and welcome guests and greet people who visit the Club based at our Bourdon House boutique.

Once home to the Duke of Westminster, Bourdon House is now a one-stop shop for the modern gentleman.

As the only detached house in Mayfair, this grade two listed Georgian building has, like Alfred Dunhill, long since represented grandeur and distinction in British heritage.

The retail aspect of Bourdon House is set over three floors, catering to every modern gentleman's need.

The ground floor showcases Dunhill's signature lines of ready-to-wear whilst the second floor hosts a unique spa waiting room called The "Discovery Room," a spa replete with two treatment rooms, a traditional gentleman's barber and an elegant museum curating pieces from the brand's archives.

In the basement is a private cinema, equipped with a state of the art British-made sound system, a cigar room, a games room, 'dishonesty' bar, courtyard for al fresco entertaining; private dining room, four bedrooms including a sumptuous suite recreating the original sleeping quarters of the Duke himself.


Key responsibilities:


  • Meet and greet all members and guests on entering the Club
  • Host the restaurant and lounges and assist with drinks service
  • Ensure all guests are accommodated, according to Club standard
  • Introduce the bedroom and present its main features to the guests staying overnight
  • Present and offer concierge services to our Members
  • Actively upsell bedrooms when required
  • Actively promote the Club's private areas and outlets
  • Answer all incoming calls in a professional manner and to direct them to the relevant departments or take messages to be relayed
  • Ensure that all restaurant enquiries are dealt with professionally and any special requests are communicated
  • Ensure all the shoe polish, pressing and dry cleaning enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently
  • Ensure total confidentiality with regard to all Members and guests profiles and requirements and to protect them from the media
  • Ensure all relevant issues relating to housekeeping and maintenance are communicated appropriately
  • Ensure that all guest complaints, queries and requests are dealt with professionally and quickly and communicated to the Reception & Events Manager
  • Be fully conversant with all the dining options, club facilities, packages and upcoming events
  • Assist the Reception Manager with taking short lead meetings and private dining bookings
  • Be fully aware of which events are taking place at the Club in order to advise Members when requested
  • Ensure that you are aware of and adhere to health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures
  • Report any item which causes concern to staff or Members

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

  • Experience in a receptionist role
