The role
As a Communications Operator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll have the opportunity to work in a leading defence company maintaining the security of the country.


Day to day, you'll:

  • Operate all applicable site equipment to maintain continuity of military communications
  • Monitor and report asset status
  • Maintain communications when faults occur
  • Assist in first line maintenance of communications systems
  • Maintain accurate records for all operational and engineering occurrences
This role is full time on a shift basis and will be based onsite in Harrogate. The shift pattern will consist of two twelve-hour day shifts and two twelve-hour night shifts per week.


Essential experience of the Communications Operator:

  • Basic record of proven ability in the role of the Communications Operator
  • Requires good selfmotivation
  • Real time decision making and problemsolving ability
  • Sound knowledge of vagaries of high frequency propagation and frequency management
  • Understanding and ability to work a desktop computer particularly MS products
