    THE COMPANY

    Our client is an established property management business located in central London, specialising in commercial property management, block management, and residential lettings. We manage a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties on behalf of freeholders, institutional, and private investors, with some clients based outside the UK.

    Our existing residential block management portfolio consists of buildings ranging in size across London. Additionally, we oversee commercial buildings and a small retail portfolio, primarily situated in London.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial company with a wide range of responsibilities.

    THE ROLE

    Joining a team comprising a Finance Director, Financial Controller, and a Service Charge Accountant, this is a diverse role encompassing company and service charge accounting, along with ad-hoc accounting duties as required. If successful, the position may lead to becoming the Head of Service Charge Accounts. The following is a broad outline of duties:

    Management:

    • Supervision of a service charge accountant
    • Collaboration with operations/property management team
    • Credit control responsibilities
    • Production of budgets and EOY accounts within deadlines
    • Financial management of district heating systems
    • Timely production of expenditure vs. budget reports
    • Management of financial compliance

    Purchase Ledger:

    • Producing payment runs for contractors
    • Ensuring accuracy of Contractor ledgers
    • Liaising with suppliers via email and telephone
    • Handling contractor queries and maintaining up-to-date accounting systems

    Sales Ledger:

    • Ownership of arrears for a portfolio of clients
    • Reporting arrears in monthly management meetings
    • Credit control, liaising with occupiers/tenants directly regarding outstanding amounts and invoice queries
    • Preparing and issuing service charge packs to occupiers/tenants when required

    Banking:

    • Ownership of bank reconciliations for a portfolio of clients
    • Governance of Notional Accounts within the portfolio
    • Assisting the team with ad-hoc bank duties

    General:

    • Answering telephone system calls as the second receiver for the Finance Team
    • Assisting with service charge accounting when required
    • Other duties outlined in the job description and agreed upon with the Financial Controller

    Experience:

    • At least two years' experience in a relevant role; AAT qualification is an advantage
    • Previous experience working within the property industry

    Skills:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly strong Excel skills
    • Experience with Grosvenor Systems "Propman" software and/or Dwellant is an advantage

    SALARY: £40-£45K, dependent on experience

    HOURS: 9 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to work longer hours during busy periods. The role will be based in our Central London office, with one day of working from home.
