You will be hard working, able to plan ahead effectively and be able to adapt well into our team.

With a keen eye for detail, and service with a smile, it is imperative that each event has exactly what it requires.

Excellent communication skills and a key emphasis on customer service is required.


Duties

  • Work with the operations team regarding preparation for events, working from prep lists and loading vans with all required equipment etc. for the events
  • To set up events as per clients requirements across various sites with numbers of events regularly fluctuating along with location and size of events
  • Depending on nature of catering e.g. buffets, or seated dinners, provide the appropriate level of service as per standards set by Saffron, ensuring there is sufficient food and the customer are served efficiently as per booking request
  • When requested, serve and assemble food for customers to ensure both a fast and courteous standard of service, with the emphasis being on excellent customer service
  • Work under the supervision of an Event Manager on site, ensuring service with a smile at all times, and being presentable in the correct uniform and manner etc.
  • Operate the till and take cash and issue change or process card payments for public sales events/bar sales when required
  • For any beverage service for function bars or during the events, ensure service area is laid out appropriately and that sufficient beverage is available along with any equipment required for service. Full compliance with UK Licensing Laws are required
  • Ensure full support is given to Event Managers regarding staff briefings, service period and de-briefing at all events
  • Assist if required in preparation of the menu as directed by the kitchen team, plating up meals etc.
  • Clear dirty crockery and glassware appropriately, store carefully and load onto vans etc.
  • Ensure a post event area has a full clean down and be responsible for collecting all dirty linen post events and removing all food waste as per food hygiene management systems
  • Undertake cleaning duties to include general cleaning of front of house areas and all dining areas, as well as cleaning kitchen surfaces including fridges and freezer units, as part of legal requirement to provide a clean and hygienically safe catering environment both at the unit and off site - leaving all sites as we found them
  • On occasions, prepare and deliver corporate buffets working with the corporate ops team
  • Driving licence is beneficial, along with access to a vehicle
  • Build relationships with each of the Saffron teams both at the unit and on site at events
  • To work as part of a diverse team and provide resilience for other team members when required
  • Follow all health and safety procedures including correct manual handling procedures
