    Description

    Opportunity Overview:

    Our client is currently seeking a dynamic Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join their esteemed Structural Engineering team based in the vibrant city centre of Glasgow and Aberdeen.

    This is a full-time, long-term position with the option for flexible hybrid work arrangements, allowing for a balance between office and remote work.

    We offer both employee and contract positions for this role.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Serve as the primary point of contact for the civil engineering discipline, offering comprehensive support across various business sectors and client streams, particularly focusing on onshore civil engineering projects.

    Undertake engineering tasks encompassing Conceptualisation, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Technical Studies, and Detailed Design.

    Demonstrate leadership by evaluating the efficiency of operational practices and systems, actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced personal and team performance.

    Execute work in strict compliance with our client's and project-specific Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality protocols.
    Develop estimates, schedules, and contribute to their thorough review process.
    Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members as needed.


    Candidate Profile:

    Required Experience:
    Extensive and demonstrable track record in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking.
    In-depth understanding of multiple engineering disciplines and familiarity with relevant Industry Codes and Standards.
    Proficiency in Autodesk Design products application.

    Advanced skills in structural analysis software such as TEDDS and STAAD.Prior experience in leading small to medium-sized engineering teams and interfacing with clients, including estimating and planning scopes of work.

    Successful track record in delivering projects within predefined schedules and budgets, particularly in onshore brownfield modifications involving pad foundations, raft foundations, pipe supports, and secondary steelwork structures.

    Familiarity with assessing Ground Investigation data and selecting suitable foundations based on site investigation reports.
    Expertise in concrete and steelwork design, including connections, compliant with Eurocode standards.
    Ability to compile Calculation Packs and Technical Reports proficiently.
    Willingness to conduct occasional onshore site visits/surveys in the UK, typically lasting 2-3 days.
    Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
    Chartered status with MICE or MIStructE (or actively pursuing).Competency in using MS Office applications.
