Our client a leading value clothing retailer, backed by a global retail group are looking to strengthen their Watford based head office team with an Merchandiser Admin Assistant on a temporary contract.


The MAA supports the Merchandising team to maximize sales and profit through the effective management of stock at store and option level.

They are responsible for allocating stock to the right place at the right time, driving sales through improved availability.

They also update and maintain departmental intake plans through management of the critical path and purchase order creation and management.


  • Provide accurate sales reports and analysis to support the merchandising team with strategy decisions on stock, stores, grading and range planning
  • Attend store visits on a regular basis and communicate feedback to relevant teams
  • Seek feedback from stores to support / investigate current performance and feedback to team
  • Collate accurate sales history reports to generate size mixes and support merchandising and buying decisions by reflecting in buy ratios
  • Collate accurate sales history reports to gain an understanding of best and worst sellers to support buying and merchandising teams with range planning decisions
  • With guidance from Assistant Merchandiser, maintain and update range plan ensuring full accuracy at all times
  • Attend lessons learnt meetings, feeding back where relevant
  • Ensure all POs on department are raised accurately and sent to relevant suppliers
  • Update and maintain accurate delivery schedule
  • Ensure all department housekeeping is kept up to date on systems each week
  • Communicates efficiently with relevant departments and suppliers to ensure critical path and delivery dates are maintained, ensuring any issues are escalated to the wider team
  • Attends weekly team critical path meeting with Buying team and communicates any delays to planned intake dates to wider team
  • With guidance from Assistant Merchandiser, propose and action trading decisions arising from critical path meetings quantity/price amendments and rephasing deliveries
