    We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Site Reliability Engineerto join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew, which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind

    What we are looking for:

    The Head of Site Reliability Engineer will build an entire team and lead our SRE team to ensure that our financial technology services are highly available, scalable, and secure. The role involves a blend of operational excellence, engineering innovation, and leadership responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with software engineering, security, and product teams to enhance our systems' reliability and performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy that encompasses infrastructure, applications, and security considerations specific to our business.
    • Build, manage and mentor the brand new SRE team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
    • Ensure systems are designed and operated in compliance with financial industry regulations and standards.
    • Lead incident management processes, including post-mortem analysis and implementing preventive measures.
    • Collaborate with software engineering teams to advocate for reliability and performance best practices in the development lifecycle.
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of automation tools for system health monitoring, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
    • Manage SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for all critical systems and services.
    • Drive initiatives to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising on reliability and security.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in within our sector, SRE, and cybersecurity to continually enhance our systems and practices.

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in site reliability engineering, devops, or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
    • Strong background in cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
    • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, particularly as they apply to this sector.
    • Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance standards relevant (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX).
    • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Go).
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track-record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
