    The Opportunity

    A new opportunity has emerged for an IT Applications Specialist to join our IT Department. In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the IT Application estate across the entire business. Your primary objectives will be to ensure that our technology requirements are met by maintaining the Application estate. This will consist of ensuring it is operating effectively for end users, implemented securely and in line with vendor support requirements. There will be a specific focus on managing, administering, and developing our Microsoft 365 technology, by implementing new Microsoft solutions and enhancing the utilisation of existing Microsoft technologies.

    While the role primarily involves technical aspects, there will also be opportunities to engage with both internal and external stakeholders. You will proactively communicate with them to understand and address any issues they face and contribute to the successful adoption of new technologies.

    Additionally, you will play a vital role in supplier management, collaborating closely with both Cloud/SaaS and traditional technology solution providers. This entails resolving issues, gaining insight into their application roadmaps, and overseeing the execution of changes and upgrades.

    Key responsibilities

    • General duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Manage, administer and maintain the firms Microsoft 365 environment.
    • Perform routine maintenance on the entire application estate to ensure it is running optimally at all times
    • Install new and upgrade existing applications as defined by the IT Strategy and Investment plans
    • Ensure seamless integration of applications with existing systems and processes.
    • Liaise with external suppliers on known issues, their resolution and technology roadmaps
    • Work closely with the IT Trainers to assist in producing software related training materials
    • Provide hands-on assistance with projects outside the main scope of the role (e.g. office moves)

    Requirements

    Essential

    • A minimum 2 years experience with many of the following Microsoft technologies:-
    • End User Computing – M365, Teams, O365, Sharepoint, Power Automate & BI etc
    • Supporting Services - Azure, InTune, End Point Manager. Active Directory, SQL etc.
    • Microsoft Certifications in any of these relevant technologies would be advantageous.
    • Experience in laptop configuration, management and performance tuning expertise.
    • Experience in packaging, repackaging and automating software installations for Windows environments.
    • Knowledge and experience of Active Directory Group Policy.
    • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
    • Experience in managing Cloud / SaaS applications.
    • Experience in system development / coding / integration.
    • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with both internal an external stakeholders.

    Desirable

    • Legal Application Knowledge e.g. Practice Management / Finance Systems, Document / Case Management Systems and Time Recording solutions.
    • Expertise in Mobile Device Management Technologies.
    • Awareness of Web and Email Security.
    • Proven SQL knowledge and experience.
    • Proven InTune knowledge and experience.
    • Understanding of ITIL Framework

    Reporting

    The post-holder will report to the IT Technical Services Manager.
