    An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team as its Revenue Accountant.

    The focus of the Revenue Accountant will be on Eurostar's cross-channel routes. This role will be responsible for:

    • Reconciling sales to cash received to ensure accurate receivables balances.
    • Support Eurostar's month end procedures.
    • Supporting the annual financial audits for Eurostar Group.

    The position is located in our Kings Cross head office and follows a hybrid model.

    Requirements

    We are looking for someone to...

    • Perform reconciliations of receivable accounts linked to distribution activities across the Eurostar Group (including Thalys and Eurostar Holidays Ltd/EHL)
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline and follows up on reconciling items.
    • Investigate discrepancies within the revenue accounting systems to pinpoint root causes, propose necessary changes.
    • Analyse revenue data to identify incorrect revenue accounting and takes remedial action through manual correction and engages with IT to scope a system fix.
    • Collaborate effectively with the OASSIS team to swiftly resolve identified issues.
    • Post journals during month end to ensure our balance sheet and income statement accurately reflect the revenue generated.
    • Support the detailed variance analysis of specific revenue lines.
    • Field and respond to ad-hoc queries from the wider business.
    • Compile and analyse fee income (P&L) received each month due to customer exchanges (name changes, seat upgrades)
    • Provide hands-on support to business functions where required to ensure that revenue transactions are captured correctly in front end systems and flow through to the Finance ledgers.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations related to revenue transactions and processes.
    • Communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, flexed as appropriate for the target audience (including to non-finance management).

    You'll need ...

    • To be Part Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or have a Business School/University master's degree in finance.
    • Relevant experience in accounting, including exposure to financial reporting, revenue recognition principles, particularly those relevant to the transportation industry.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables etc)
    • Experience in working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle.
    • Experience in intercompany accounting principles and processes

    Desirable

    • Proficiency in the French language
    • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the UK Companies Act 2006.
    • Experience in payment processing platforms (e.g., Adyen, AMEX, PayPal)
