    Job summary

    A part- time position has arisen for a Specialised Dental Nurse to work within the Oral Maxillofacial/Orthodontic Department at County Hospital.

    As a Qualified Specialised Dental Nurse you will be responsible for supporting the service in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.

    The post holder is required to hold a recognised Dental Nursing qualification, be GDC registered and have essential post qualifications in Dental Radiography and Oral Health Education Certificate post registration qualification.

    You must be able to prepare, organise and maintain highest standards of care in the clinical environment for Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics at County and Rest . You should be flexible with a professional manner and possess excellent communication skills. You will work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team ensuring that the needs of the patients are placed at the centre of care delivery.     Essential requirement for post: General Dental Council Registered Dental Nurse

    We are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Specialised Dental Nurse to work within the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/Orthodontic Department, the applicant must hold -

  • The British National Examining board for dental surgery assistants' certificate / NEBDN / NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Dental Nursing,
  • Certificate in Dental Radiography
  • Oral Health Education Certificate post registration qualification
  • Band: Band 5This is a band 4 post until such time as the post holder gains 2 years' experience within the department in orderfor progression to band 5 to occur.

    This is a multidisciplinary department which requires a Specialised Dental Nurse to work within the specialities Oral Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative providing nurse led clinics. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, highly motivated using their own initiative and work well within a team. They will need to have a supportive, caring attitude and be committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients.

  • Dental Radiography
  • Oral Health Education Certificate
  • NEBDN Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing
  • Registered with the General Dental Council.

  • Orthodontic Nursing Certificate.
  • Implant Nursing Certificate
  • Level 1 (Core) Training in Dental CBCT Certificate
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience and relevant knowledge in specific specialist areas of Maxillofacial, Orthodontics and Restorative.
  • NHS General Dental Practice
  • Knowledge of confidentiality / Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to prioritise appropriately and work with minimal supervision
  • High standard of chair side nursing
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer literacy, including confidence using a PC and handheld devices to record patient information
  • Competent domestic skills, including cleaning and organisation
  • Well motivated
