The role of a nurse is to work within an acute setting seeks to diversify your skills and experiences as you work alongside the multidisciplinary team.

We are an integrated provider with a full range of adult, elderly and children's services across medical and surgical disciplines including community 0-19yr old services in Enfield.

Our specialist services include stroke, HIV/AIDS, cardiology, haematology, diabetes, fertility and orthopaedics. Our sickle cell and thalassaemia department is nationally recognised as a leading centre for these diseases.

Final Year Nursing Students

If you are a student nurse who will qualify in 2023 whose clinical placements have been within North Central London (NCL) health and care organisations, we offer you our Capital Nurse simple 5-step graduate guarantee to take you to your first qualified nursing post.

A conditional offer will be given to you within five working days following your interview
You will be supported by a 1 year Capital Nurse Preceptorship programme
Opportunity to work as a band 3 Healthcare Support Worker after successful completion of your degree programme until your NMC registration is confirmed (local variation may apply).

Please can you indicate your top three clinical area / department of preference in the supporting information section. Our vacancies across departments may vary. Interviews will be held on 22/04/23.

The role will mainly focus on providing a high standard care to all our patients. To assist in the continuing professional development, the performance of learners and junior staff in the clinical area.

The post holder will be accountable for their nursing practice, adhere to the policies and protocols of the Trust and the NMC.

He/she will have a responsibility for their own personal and professional development.

You will be offered a supportive environment which provides teaching and learning opportunities to develop your clinical and theoretical nursing knowledge and skills.

You will also have access to personal and professional formal and informal training within the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Professional

Act in accordance with the Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives, and nursing associates, and fulfil all registration requirements.
To be familiar with and adhere to the Trust Code and Behaviour and Uniform and dress code policy.
Respects the privacy, dignity, needs, beliefs, choices and preferences of patients and carers.
Obtain informed consent for the identified care to be undertaken, ensuring the patient/client has a good understanding and knowledge of the decisionmaking process and is provided with accurate and appropriate information.
Maintain clear and accurate patient records using both digital and paperbased records.
Recognise and effectively respond to emergency situations requesting support from the registered nurse in a timely and appropriate manner.
Work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and local policy and practices, including safeguarding and raising concerns.
Use a wide range of communication methods, including verbal, nonverbal and written, to interact with a variety of individuals including patients, carers, and members of the multiprofessional team in a manner which is safe, effective, compassionate, and respectful.
Recognise and consistently work within boundaries of the registered nurse role and their acquired skills and knowledge whilst developing competencies to progress their education and training for example skills in leadership and medicines management
Work in an agile manner, able to work unsocial hours. Willingness to work in different locations within the Trust when required.

Clinical

Provide a high standard of safe individualised, holistic, and evidencebased patient focused advanced care in consultation with the patient, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team as per the plan of care.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Care Programme Approach, Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
Knowledge of current national and local legislation and policy that impacts on mental health services.
