    The role:

    We're seeking a passionate Senior Commercial Manager to drive contract management within the NDA. As part of the Commercial & Business Development Function you'll manage contracts with key customers. From overseeing contract negotiations to managing risks, you'll be responsible for shaping our Function in ways that are truly exciting.

    Accountabilities:

    • Manages a team of 6 including 4 commercial managers as direct reports.
    • Interface with key customers and suppliers.
    • Lead Strategic development, marketing, sales and contracting for future business opportunities under existing customer contracts.
    • Oversee Contract Management activities and proactively develop relationships across the NDA Group.
    • Work collaboratively with Sellafield in Senior level discussions/interactions with customers relating to Strategic operational and AGR Power Station defueling matters.
    • Be responsible for the preparation of contractual responses, including obtaining necessary NDA Group approvals.
    • Support national programmes and Lead Sub-Groups on commercial and operational matters.
    • Manage Customer audits.
    • Identify risks and opportunities associated with the NDA contracts and develop and Risk Management Strategies
    • Manage specific areas of departmental Cost and Revenue budgets including future budget submissions.
    • Work flexibly as a member of the UK Contracts team and provide support in other areas as required.
    • Maintain and identify improvements in the interfaces and interactions with key stakeholders.
    • Ability to effectively project plan and manage contract activities with multiple parties.
    • Strong financial awareness and acumen.

    Knowledge, skills and experience required:

    • Ability to Think Strategically and to demonstrate clear and concise presentation and communication skills.
    • Leadership experience associated with Multi-Party Programmes.
    • Experience of managing and negotiating high value, long duration, complex contracts.
    • Capability to produce high quality succinct Dashboards, documentation, and reports.
    • High level of drive and personal integrity.
    • Ability to build productive external relationships and network effectively with key personnel across the business.
    • Ability to represent NDA in an external environment.
    • Ability to quickly grasp and simplify technical and operational issues.
    • Good awareness of key stakeholders and their key drivers, with an awareness of wider stakeholders not affiliated to this role.

    Other knowledge, skills and experience which are advantageous:

    • Understanding of the nuclear industry and key business issues affecting NDA, it's customers and it's suppliers would be beneficial.
    • Accreditation through the Government Commercial Function's CMCP (Contract Management) Course at Expert Level
