Maintenance Engineer

£40,000 Per Annum

Liverpool

Hours:
Monday - Friday between 6am - 6pm

gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Liverpool

Performance Objectives

  • This is an established facility, so at the outset the Maintenance Engineer will be engaged in the upkeep and documentation of maintenance procedures and policies for the facility.
  • Carrying out day to day preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensuring that all machinery and packing equipment and other systems are kept operational and properly maintained.
  • Responding to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshooting faults and finding long term solutions.
  • Ensuring that the all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and Company rules, procedures and standards at all times.
  • Be proactive in reporting and resolving defects or wear issues with the equipment.
  • Provide recommendations on repairs and upgrades.
  • Assist the Terminal Manager with procurement of correct replacement items.
  • Working effectively with subcontractors.
  • Using ERP systems to maintain stock management and maintenance records.
  • Undertake any other duties and tasks which are reasonably required by management which may including assisting in the warehouses or elsewhere on the Terminal site from time to time.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience in maintenance working in a bulk facility where conveyors and elevators are used (minimum of 2+ years).
  • Experience of working with; conveyors, bucket elevators, silos, warehouses, packing equipment
  • Experience of working alongside subcontractors in this environment.
  • Must have both QA and H&S experience.
  • Good spoken and written English skills and numeracy essential.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use ERP systems, MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Flexible positive attitude to your own work as well as an assertive and outgoing nature to supervising the work of others.
  • Please note, daily duties may require working at height.
