Description
We are currently recruiting to join our manufacturing client based in Shildon DL4 a Skilled operative.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


The multi skilled Facility Operative will work with the Facility Lead engineers ensuring, effective running of all Facility building and rooms to ensure all production areas and offices are maintained so internal customers can carry out the works effectively.

8am

  • 4pm

PAY RATE:
£12.50

DUTIES OF THE ROLE
Remove and relocate any internal waste to the rear Yard for removal by Veolia (waste contractors)
Complete all painting and decorating of the building internally and externally as agreed with the led engineer

Carry out frequency based Preventive Maintenance plans to site standards across all areas of the site and rectify any issues found.

Ensure all spray booth gun cleaners are kept clean and report any damage to the system which may prevent the spray extraction from working correctly
Ensure team are proactively identifying facility issues and rectifying those before they breakdown and cause internal customers problems. Report accordingly on electronic system as well as inform the Facility Manager.

Ensure that all floors are kept to the correct standards and painted with the correct floor paints as discussed with the Lead Engineer.

(all floors must be tested to maintain antistatic properties
Ensure all water pumps and water/septic tanks are maintained and inspected as per the schedule and report any findings to the lead engineers and facility/maintenance managers attention

Work with the Facility Lead Engineer to ensure MOC are completed within the correct time frames - bring any issue and suggested rectification points to the Facility Managers attention immediately for rectification plan.

With the Lead Engineer Modify and Improve Facilities, Equipment, Plant and Processes electrically and control of contractors on-site as directed this includes PTW where required.

Ensure team are able to understand diagrams and work to them, to help keep the facilities and and running 24/7.

Ensuring the facility fabricated building are painted regularly and all areas signage is maintained to provide a safe environment for all personnel
- visitors - staff - contractors - agency staff,
Must be able to use a computer to update the Maintenance System on issues found and rectification of works. Request and order spares when required for speedy repair of facilities and building.

Support and contribute to the development of safe systems of work ensuring that Company Health and Safety Standards are complied with, and safe working practices are always adopted.

Identify any facility issues on site and report to the lead engineer straight away

Ensure the facility repairs and other task were required are completed sharply - this may include doing tasks at weekend when production time are reduced.

Assist the Lead Engineer control and ensure effective 5S processes and housekeeping of the maintenance area /workshop, and Plant areas affected by all maintenance activities.

Monitor stock within stores to determine availability of critical required spares and liaise with the Support Co-ordinator to ensure that orders are placed and appropriately stocked in the stores area.

Carry out other tasks given by the Facility / Maintenance Manager as and when required to suit the requirements of the business.

Assist in the control of contractors where required
Be a good time keeper, polite and courteous to all staff, Contractors and others.
Working unsociable hours in hazardous and physically demanding environments.
Being available to work at short notice to maintain effective running of the plant.

Must be willing and able to work overtime when required and Call out system if and when required at short notice.

The multi skilled Facility Operative craftsman will be required to develop and maintain proactive and sustainable relationships with all internal and external parties including other multi skilled engineering craftsmen, operational team members, the managementteam, contractors and suppliers.
