Practice Education Facilitator - Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit


We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse, with a keen interest in education and the clinical development of staff.

You will be required to support the coordination and implementation of in-service training to nursing staff on Ward D703, alongside contributing to the wider education of the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

You will support the delivery of Systemic Anti-cancer Treatment (SACT) education so previous experience of delivering chemotherapy regimens is essential.

You will also be expected to support nursing staff new to the speciality and promote on-going professional development throughout their nursing career on Ward D703.


Ward D703 is a gold accredited and purpose built 25 bedded adult Haematology and Stem Cell Transplant Unit based within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

We provide expert care and treatment for patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions, including lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma, as well as sickle cell disease and haemoglobinopathies.

We specialise in complex stem cell transplants, chemotherapy regimens, and care of the acutely unwell haematology patient.


We are leaders in the South West, treating patients from Worcester to Cornwall, and are nationwide pioneers of ground-breaking new treatments such as CAR-T cell therapy.

We are at the forefront of haematological care advancements, being one of only ten centres across the UK to provide CAR-T cell therapy, and the team have won a Recognising Success award that reflects this.


  • To support, implement and evaluate programmes of education and training at an appropriate level and to promote and maintain standards of care in accordance with Trust standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Supporting the development of evidencedbased practice within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, disseminating best practice and incorporating identified educational needs.
  • To facilitate staff retention by ensuring clinical support, progressive job satisfaction and opportunities for staff personal development.
  • To support the ward sister with the development and communication of the overall educational purpose and direction of Ward D703, providing a shared vision for all staff in working towards the BHOC education strategy.
  • Educate the team to promote improvement and effective management of change by undertaking and acting upon research and audits, to implement agreed new approaches to raise the quality of care.
  • Communicate effectively with interprofessional colleagues at all levels.
  • Develop strategies for new ways of learning
  • Participate in the teaching and delivery of training programmes and facilitate their further
