    Summary

    As Media Manager (Research) you'll be playing a leading role in shaping Diabetes UK's media profile, while increasing awareness and understanding of the advances and investment being made in diabetes research here in the UK.

    Diabetes UK is the UK's leading charitable funder of diabetes research. Our research has been behind some of the biggest leaps forward in diabetes care and changed lives for the better. Our research makes headlines and in this role you'll help build relationships with media, develop messaging and create media plans with impact. You'll be part of a high-performing team that sees Diabetes UK appear on the national radio, TV, national newspapers, consumer magazines and more.

    Main Responsibilities

    As Media Manager responsible for the promotion of our ground-breaking research programme, you'll be part of a busy, high-performing media team delivering campaigns on a range of issues.

    You'll work alongside our specialist Research Communications team to deliver coverage of scale and impact, and that showcases Diabetes UK as a research funder of excellence. You'll also play a key role in our busy press office, working with national and trade media to provide expert comment and information.

    Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a talented, experienced media professional with a passion for science and research and a track record for designing and delivering high impact press campaigns.

    Responsible for driving media coverage for our ground-breaking research programmes and events, you'll have an excellent working knowledge of UK, national, trade and regional media, an ability to build relationships with media and a knack for telling a great story.

    You'll have an eye for a story among complexity and a commitment to accuracy while driving engagement with complex information.
