Description
Contributes to the delivery of Engineering excellence through: _
- _Developing UK Discipline Strategy _
- _Driving technical assurance _
- _Supporting UK Head of Engineering, other Heads of Discipline and Engineering Managers _
- _Functionally support the discipline team across UK _
- _Deputising for the UK Head of Engineering _
- _Executing assigned business objectives _
- _Actively setting expectations and lead in Discipline Competence _
- _Providing discipline expertise to the business including Technical Authority responsibility where required _
- _Managing key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities _
- _Developing and retaining motivated and competent people _
- _Undertaking the role of process owner for Wood Operations BMS Global & UK content _
- _Performance monitoring and reporting to senior management _
- _Driving innovation and best practice across the Operations UK business_


_People:
_

- _Setting strategic improvement objectives for discipline _
- _Managing performance of direct reports _
- _Driving compliance and adherence of competence procedures of Engineering team _
- _Managing succession planning and delivery on behalf of the discipline _
- _Setting and improving standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people. _
- _Assisting in the management of recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet Engineering team requirements _
- _Engaging with Early Careers Network supporting development _
- _Engaging with Academic institutes developing networks and guidance on expectations
_

Process Ownership:
_

- _Owning & responsible for BMS content management (Operations Global & UK deployed) - improvement & maintain _
- _Continuous promotion of Operations / client specific procedures _
- _Development and delivery of the technical safety standard expectations and technical assurance _
- _Delivering, setting and owning competence across UK _
- _Setting development objectives and supporting/developing training plans _
- _Monitoring compliance with competence standards _
- _Assisting in incident investigations as required _
- _Representing discipline across Operations UK business _
- _Setting performance expectations for discipline

Subject Matter Expertise:
_

- _Driving development of SME's into discipline with strategic view to enhancing current capabilities _
- _Assisting in providing functional support to projects / contracts as required _
- _Rolling out and implementation of learning opportunities from across the business _
- _Acting as Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments _


_General:
_

- _Deputising for operations UK Head of Engineering _
- _Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team. _
- _Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development _
- _Executing assigned business objectives. _
- _Managing key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of business activities. _
- _Managing and directing resources efficiently and effectively. _
- _Identifying Workshare engagement improvement opportunities _
- _Driving workshare promotion across the business_


Qualifications:

- _Mechanical, I&C, Process, Structural, Technical Safety and Electrical as appropriate _
- _MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience. _
- _Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
