    Job Description

    Make your mark as a Trainee Geotechnical Operator.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Geotechnical Operator working and learning from our team of experienced offshore engineers and operators onboard our fleet of multi-role vessels.

    Gardline Limited acquire geotechnical data for a broad range of project types, from renewable developments to oil and gas site surveys around the world. As Trainee Geotechnical Operator you'll play an important part in ensuring that equipment and systems are in place and working well to deliver first class outcomes for our clients

    This is a seagoing role, with an expectation of completing circa 200 days offshore per calendar year.

    Your responsibilities (once fully trained) include:

  • Preparation, set-up, testing and maintenance of Geotechnical equipment which includes various Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) systems, vibrocore and seabed sampling tools to acquire geotechnical data offshore.
  • Mobilisation & demobilisation of equipment.
  • Acquire high quality geotechnical data and execute geotechnical operations in accordance to field procedures and acquire geotechnical data in line with operating parameters of equipment
  • Provide status reports and adhere to company fault reporting procedures and execute Geotechnical field testing using computer software
  • Assist in the data and paperwork collation for return to office.
  • Your qualities
    You can make your mark as a Geotechnical Operator if you have:

  • Enthusiasm, personal drive and the motivation to progress
  • Qualification to BTEC Level 3 in electrical engineering or similar discipline
  • Whilst this is an entry level role, some previous knowledge or understanding of vibrocore and CPT operations would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems would be beneficial
  • Team spirit, keen to learn and a collaborative work ethic

  • A full drivers' license would be advantageous
  • Where you will work: Offshore onboard our survey vessels, anywhere in the world where Gardline vessels operate
  • Fulltime job: The position of Trainee Geotechnical Operator is a fulltime role, 12 hour shift rotations whilst onboard, offshore
