£27,500 - £33,000 per annum plus benefits
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Operator to join our team on the prestigious Skynet contract. This role will assist with maintenance and network engineering tasks within a Satellite Communications environment. The role is a shift position providing 24/7 technical support to the Network Operations team. This will include working a formally rostered pattern which includes weekends and Public Holidays in addition to Night Shifts.

We are looking to attract applicants who are adaptable, highly self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills and who relish a challenge.

This is a permanent position within Serco that would ideally suit applicants from a technical background or keen interest in Space activities.

Main responsibilities of this role include:

Assist with scheduled Operational and Network Support tasks.
Undertake fault monitoring and rectification activities, maintaining records and reports of work completed.
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks on the equipment within the ground station.
Assist with unscheduled tasks as detailed by the Shift Supervisor or Network Management Team.
Administration and scheduled daily tasks.

What you'll need to do the role:

Good verbal and written communication skills ideally including GCSE or Level 3 Maths and English.
Be able to work as part of a closeknit team.
Holding a UK Government SC clearance is a mandatory requirement for the position. Successful applicants will be expected to achieve this clearance as a condition of appointment into the role.
