    As a Barclays KDB Developer, you will develop exceptional and robust software that will play a central role in the reengineering efforts of the FX E-Trading platform. This is an exciting opportunity to be accountable for working with the wider team, including other development teams to contribute and take accountability for the architecture and delivery of projects across various phases.

    What will you be doing?

    • Delivering KDB+ solutions to support the platform for the FX businesses

    • Re-implementing of existing codebase, delivering ongoing support to those systems

    • Working closely with various teams across the estate, providing mentorship and assistance across various projects and initiatives

    • Implementing new and fresh ideas across the team and taking ownership

    • Working with senior stakeholders across the business ensuring expectations are managed accordingly

    • Ensuring that all duties carried out are done so within the Barclays risk and control framework

    What we're looking for:

    • Expert Level Q programmer

    • Development experience in front office / electronic trading systems

    • Competence of standard development and build tools, GIT, TeamCity etc

    • Demonstratable analytical skills

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Full lifecycle development of at least 1 large commercial system, with ideal candidate focusing on significant development of high-frequency trading or pricing systems

    • Experience of modern requirements for security, encryption, cyber threats and how to go about security systems to meet those requirements

    In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
