  • Work closely with the RATs Structural Clearance Approval authority and Design Integrity in support of achieving Company Product Certification requirements.
  • Adhere to standards for mechanical engineering best practice.
  • Support the mechanical management team in process and departmental improvement and development activities.
  • Continue professional development throughout your career by formal training, learning "on the job" and keeping up to date with the latest developments, which may aid performance.

What we need from you:

  • You will hold a degree in a relevant discipline (for example Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Aeronautical Engineering) or demonstrate equivalent job related experience.
  • You will be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Full Member of a recognised Engineering Institution (e.g. IMechE) or have the necessary competencies to obtain Chartered status with the IMechE.

  • An understanding of specifying loading environments (based on recognised military/civil standards) applicable to airborne equipment is required.
  • Experience and understanding of qualification testing of equipment in support of Airworthiness/Structural clearance approval (as part of Product Certification) is important.
  • Working knowledge of the Classification & Grading of Stress Critical/Aircraft Standard Parts to recognised military/civil standards is required.
  • Experience of undertaking independent reviews of Company Products.
