    What is Retail Placemaking

Based out of London, and East Coast Australia; we have a proven track record as an outstanding placemaking advisory for Retail, Dining & Entertainment (RD&E).

The global retail landscape has undergone seismic shifts over the past decade and shows no signs of stabilising anytime soon. In the past few years, property developers have also truly brought into the power of proactive placemaking in their mixed-use schemes. Simply defined as 'creating quality places where people want to live, work and play'; when placemaking is done well it creates a destination that is so much more than a collection of buildings and streets, parks and squares.

The final vital element, although often overlooked, is the full potential of the commercial ground floor (retail, dining and entertainment). Churchill & Partners are the only consultancy exclusively focussing on retail placemaking, to support developers in this area.

    What We Need

An expert and dynamic Project Manager.

    Who We Are

Founded by Beverley Churchill (Ex Selfridges, Capco, Covent Garden) in 2017; we are a tailored professional consultancy made up of a small team of highly skilled experts. We are ex-developers and retailers, market analysts, architects, brand-builders, creative thinkers, lawyers and consumer and tourism specialists.

We advise and support existing retail and mixed-use destinations, reinvigorated urban centres and new Saudi Arabian giga projects. We build strategies that are designed to maximise the full potential of RD&E and to help to make place famous through the attractive power of vibrant retail environments.

    Our Approach

Strong commercial viability focus: our consultancy, planning and management advisory services are heavily guided by data and forecast numbers. We start every process with a considered focus on the most up-to-date catchment, visitation and market context data to quickly validate the potential gross lettable area and footfall for a destination.

Deep attention to detail on Development Master Plans: as qualified architects and retail designers, we push way beyond the commercials and deep into the practical detail. We routinely deliver comprehensive DMP reviews at all stages that enhance the overall retail user experience and prepare the development for the specific needs of tenants, customers, servicing and an enlivened public realm.

Converting strategies into powerful visions: we call upon decades of experience in global brand building (creating unique propositions & compelling stories for a range of consumers); to develop powerful visions out of solid commercial strategies and roadmaps, that can be delivered in a rich variety of formats (from attractive presentations to head-turning films and immersive experiences).

Our strategic services also uniquely include a focus on continually driving domestic and international tourists into the place and the development of a fully activated public realm with a 365 program of seasonal and thematic events that deliberately target a variety of audiences and establish clever uses of street architecture, embedded art, and Instagram moments that ultimately make a place famous.
