Description

Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse/ Midwife, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.

They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.


It is a requirement of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust that all HCSWs adhere to the Code of Conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.


Successful substantive Healthcare Support Workers will also benefit from further training opportunities which form part of the ULHT Nursing Career Development Pathway which can ultimately lead to becoming a Registered Nurse.


As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for Working under delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse/ Midwife in delivering a high standard of care to our patients in accordance with individualise care needs, utilising flexible, innovate and effective practice that demonstrates that our patients are at the centre of everythingwe do.


United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit Health Care Support Workers both to ward positions and to the nursing bank.

Vacancies will be available in a variety of clinical settings on all our sites, with contracted hours to suit both full time and part time working.


In order to ensure standardisation of skills and competencies across the workforce, it is a further requirement of the Trust that all substantive HCSWs complete the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard qualification alongside their role, unless already acquired.

The Care Certificate is an integral part of the qualification and it is expected that all staff employed into the role of HCSW will complete this element of the qualification within the first twelve weeks of employment.
