Veterinary Receptionist

It is a fantastic time to be joining Animal Trust as we continue to expand our services. We have an exciting opportunity to join our existing Reception Team at the Ashton surgery.

As a telephone receptionist, you will deliver excellent customer service and provide a friendly, professional first point of contact for the company.

You will organise appointment schedules for the veterinary teams and maintain open communication with the Ashton and Failsworth Surgeries.

Our surgeries are fast-paced environments and the support provided by the call handling team must therefore be of consistently high quality.

Common Duties Include

  • Answering telephone calls from clients, completing security questions, and assisting with queries regarding service.
  • Registering new clients.
  • Booking appointments for clients at a number of surgeries.
  • Processing repeat prescription requests for clients using ongoing medication.
  • Updating client information and amending details/services are required.
  • Dealing with stressed or upset clients and connecting them to the appropriate teams where required.
  • Using clinical triaging knowledge to ascertain the urgency of consultations.
Core Skills

  • Enthusiastic and motivated to provide a high level of customer service, while taking on a confident and personable attitude.
  • Strong organisation skills, open, honest and trustworthy.
  • Pleasant manner, compassionate towards clients and pets.
  • Strong communicator and ability to confidently communicate with clients and staff of all levels (Vet Nurses, Vets and Directors).
  • IT Literature and a fast learner.
  • Takes direction and can work from own initiative. Willingness to ask questions when necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fastpaced environment.
Background

  • Call centre experience desired but not essential.
Job particulars

  • An average of 40 hours per week; including some weekend work (1 in 4 Saturdays)
- £9.90/hour

  • Holiday Days (Including bank holidays): 28 days
  • Pension

  • Working from the Ashton Practice
