    Following the expansion of our Environmental Laboratory, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst to join the analytical team.

    Established in 2006, ACS Environmental took its place within the industry to analyse a wide range of chemical elements typically founds in environmental and construction samples. Working in conjunction with ACS Testing and ACS Geo-Environmental Consultancy, our ACS Environmental laboratory has established state of the art preparation, chemical and analytical sections.

    Our purpose-built analytical laboratory enables us to provide a comprehensive range of analytical services on a variety of materials including natural and recycled aggregates, soils, bituminous materials, and water and leachate samples.

    We offer an efficient and reliable contamination and WAC testing using various test procedures specified by the Environment Agency.

    Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Carry out Inorganic analysis as required in accordance with documented Test Methods and Laboratory Procedures
  • Have a strong focus on Quality and GLP
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and be proactive in implementing said obligations
  • Report analytical results in LIMS, excel or as instructed
  • Liaise with the Senior Analyst and Analytical Chemist to undertake various tasks and present findings in a professional manner
  • Work within a dynamic and efficient team
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standards and carry out non-routine work as required
  • Ensure instrumentation is well maintained, calibrated and in good working order
  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree in Chemistry or a Science based subject or similar related experience
  • 12 months previous laboratory or work placement experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Wet Chemistry Techniques & Instrumentation – such as pH, Conductivity, COD, BOD, BS-EN 1744, Discrete Flow Analysers, Organic Matter, etc
  • Computer literate with Microsoft and various instrumentation software
  • Ability to multitask is a must
  • Experience in a UKAS & MCERTs laboratory
  • Have good GLP and Housekeeping skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify issues and implement corrective steps
  • Be flexible, self-motivated and have high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
