    Reporting to our Director of Economy and Housing, this is a role that will oversee a diverse range of housing services and lead a dynamic, motivated and committed team of housing professionals. You will be responsible for shaping the housing strategy, leading an ambitious housing delivery programme, overseeing and taking forward all housing services to some of our most vulnerable residents, and contributing fully to a healthy and inclusive borough.

    We are looking for someone motivated, committed and passionate about housing who can lead, manage and develop the Housing Service and can work closely with colleagues as a One Council team across Health, Adults and Childrens Social Care, Communities, Regeneration, Planning, Transport, Climate Change and Corporate Services.

    We work collaboratively with our colleagues across the border in North Wales and within our sub-region with Cheshire East and Warrington - we are a truly collaborative and inclusive directorate where residents, communities and businesses are at the heart of everything that we do. The Housing Service is a critical one within the directorate and is truly cross cutting. You will play a pivotal role in delivering our inclusive economy plan and our marmot region principles working alongside a range of partners at a senior level across Cheshire and Merseyside NHS, Registered Housing Associations, Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington, Homes England and Central Government Departments. You will work closely with elected members supporting and advising them on all housing matters.

    Responsible for approximately staff across a very diverse portfolio that includes housing options, our housing register, homelessness services including complex needs and Multi-Agency Rough Sleeping Partnership, Refugees and Asylum seekers, Gypsies and Travellers, Capital Housing Delivery Programme, and all housing-related policies and strategies - You will be a strong leader and collaborator who is able to ensure that the needs of our residents and climate are reflected in our housing strategies and plans ensuring that the landlord function for the Council's housing stock is fulfilled and will be the lead for the housing management contract.
