Howarth Morris are partnering with a fast-growing Housing Association who are on the hunt for a talented, experience Finance Business Partner.

Our client is offering flexible working, however please be aware that this will not be fully remote and you will occasionally be asked to work from the Head Office in Manchester.


This role will be central to the organisations Commercial Finance Department function, in ensuring financial and policy outcomes are managed with Value for Money and Housing Regulation compliance as paramount consideration.


The Finance Business Partner will take an active role in the ongoing management and implementation of high value and complex programmes, providing financial advice and challenge.


Responsibilities

Business Partnering - Provide clear, relevant advice to support effective decision making in specific business areas for which you will be responsible. Ensure that risk management, internal control and governance procedures are followed and act as the first line of defence for financial management and, Understand the financial profile, challenges and external environment for the areas that you are responsible for, helping the group to accurately manage its financial position.

Collaborating & Partnering - Establish relationships with a range of stakeholders to support delivery of business outcomes and encourage collaborative team working within finance and across the group. Seek constructive outcomes in discussions, challenge assumptions but remain willing to compromise when it is beneficial to progress

Seeing the Big Picture - Be alert to emerging issues and trends within the Housing industry that might impact on the team and the wider group, alongside the detail, demonstrating an ability to work and think strategically.

Value for Money
  • Assist the group to deliver its Business Plan and Corporate strategy with financial requirements and achieve efficient, costeffective outcomes. Set up processes that are efficient and effective from management and tenant perspective.

Accounting

  • Lead, oversee and manage month end and year end Accounting for Housing and Charity requirements. Ensure all accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and associated work is accurate and up to date and manage fixed Asset Accounting, Treasury Management and ensure that KPIs and Analytic requirements are accurate and timely. Involvement in development of Financial Systems to support an ongoing programme of reporting improvements. Procurement and contract award for the delivery of works, goods and services meeting Public Contract Regulations and management of ongoing supplier contracts with KPI's and regular review of service

Management

  • Manage recruitment, induction, performance management, attendance management and skills development for direct reports
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience
  • Evidence of excellent relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand and articulate risks and mitigations
  • Financial analysis and appraisal skills.
  • Ability to collate and analyse information from a wide variety of sources
  • Housing Experience & component accounting
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn more about learning disabilities
