    RINA is currently recruiting for a Electrical Engineering Consultant to join its office in Leatherhead within the Consulting Country UK Division.

    Job Overview

    Working in RINA's Asset and Product Consulting team, the Electrical Engineering Consultant will apply their knowledge to a wide range of projects. Work will include engineering analysis, hands-on laboratory and site-based activities in sectors including energy, renewables and infrastructure.

    This role is based in our new Leatherhead Office

    Responsibilities


    • Laboratory-based project examples include:
    o High voltage electrical testing
    o Forensic strip down and examination of equipment including high voltage transformers, switchgear, cables and cable joints

    • Site-based project examples include:
    o Witnessing site electrical testing and product manufacturing
    o Undertaking electrical condition assessment and forensic investigations at locations such as data centres, solar parks, wind farms, transport hubs and other large industrial sites

    • Desk-based project examples include:
    o Analytical calculations and finite element modelling for cable system design purposes, including cable current ratings and induced voltages

    • Technical reviews of data and design documentation

    • Writing technical and commercial proposals

    • Managing and delivering a variety of projects

    • Writing technical reports

    • Ensuring project work is carried out safely, on time and on budget

    Qualifications


    • A minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree or above (BEng, MEng, MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM subject

    • The role is suitable for a candidate with approximately 3 years of relevant experience

    • Demonstrable practical ability with a hands-on approach

    • Driving licence (or working towards obtaining one)
