Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Genomic Pathway Co-ordinator to join our growing service team supporting the operational delivery of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) across the South East region.


Responsibilities include:


  • Acting as a central point of contact for patients, clinicians and laboratory leads
  • Processing WGS referrals in a timely manner
  • Tracking documentation and samples across the WGS pathway
  • Fostering key relationships with patients and families, clinical and laboratory teams and administrative and managerial staff

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure is essential to the role. The post holder will be required to work across multiple sites/Trusts within the South East region.

The South East Genomic Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) is a network of 7 NHS Trusts and a leading pathology provider.

Led by Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, the SEGLH provides genomic Cancer and Rare Disease testing to patients across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

The Genomic Pathway Co-ordinator will be expected to foster key working relationships with the following:
Internal (across all Trusts within the South East GLH geography)

Patients and families

Cancer and Rare Disease Clinicians

Laboratory leads and Scientists

Phlebotomists, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals

Service Delivery team

Administrative and Managerial staff

External

Courier services

North Thames GLH and other National GLHs
