We have a full-time opportunity for a Junior sister, Band 6 on Caesar Hawkins ward, an Acute Medicine ward specialising in Respiratory Medicine, based in St George's Hospital.


To support and deputise for the Ward Manger, to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources.

To carry out the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the ward/department.

To ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff, including pre and post registration students and /or providing specialist knowledge.

This is a chance to develop your management and leadership skills as part of a highly capable team.

We offer;

Clinical Expert - with a variety of acutely unwell patients passing through the ward you will be able to keep abreast of the latest clinical guidelines.

You will be responsible for the management and coordination of care of ward-based Level 2 respiratory patients.


Leadership skills - our leadership course and staff management courses will help you develop the skills you need to lead and motivate the team to provide excellent care.

We will help support the development of your junior nurse leadership skills.

Education - Opportunities for mentorship and preceptorship with our placement students and newly qualified nurses.


With a variety of career progression opportunities - from Ward Manager, Matron, Practice Educator, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Head of Nursing.
