Head of Department - Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury

Leamington Spa

c£60,000 per annum (as a guideline) Salary is negotiable dependant on experience

Hybrid Working and Flexible Hours Considered


This is a fabulous and rare opportunity for an experienced
Clinical Negligence Solicitor with five years'+ PQE to join this highly successful, well-established, Lexcel accredited, multi-office regional law firm in a senior role, with massivepotential for progression to directorship/part-business ownership in the longer term.


The role will involve:


  • Leading a
    Clinical Negligence and
    Personal Injury team of fee earners and support staff, dealing with around 80% Clinical Negligence matters and 20% Personal Injury matters
  • Handling your own caseload of
    Clinical Negligence matters from start to finish
  • Assisting other fee earners in the management of more complex clinical negligence matters
  • Providing strong leadership to the team, including financial management and budgeting, departmental risk compliance and performance and development of staff
  • Conducting and coordinating performance and file reviews within the department
  • Undertaking financial control and management of the department


This role would be a fantastic opportunity for an established Head of Department, Team Leader, Partner or Director looking for a new challenge.

We are also keen to hear from experienced Associate Solicitors looking for the next step in their career


The role would suit someone with

  • Fully qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive status, with 5 years'+ PQE in Clinical Negligence
  • Experience as an Associate Solicitor or Head of Department/Partner/Director
  • Experience in Personal Injury work preferred but not essential
