Principal - Investment department
A Japanese trading firm is currently recruiting a Principal to work in their small tech investment team in London.

In this role you will be performing as a principal by supporting Directors to source and invest in disruptive European ventures in accordance with their investment policy and to give the expertise of healthcare to create new business in the domain.

TYPE:
Permanent, full-time

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday

SALARY:
£35-48K depending on experience, plus good benefits

LOCATION:
Central London (Currently Hybrid work style. It may change depending on the company's decision.)

Principal MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Directors to build and maintain an investment pipeline
Understand their investment strategy
Research work about the market trends for identifying and developing premier investment opportunities from a strategic, technological, and financial perspective
Support the due diligence and investment decision process
Produce and present investment materials
Support directors to negotiate with relevant external parties
Initiate value creation between portfolio startup and their partners
Provide own expertise especially for creating new business in healthcare
Overall support to their colleagues as a member of the team

Principal IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Experience in venture capital, startup, healthcare business, such as a pharma company
Experience in researching corporate development/investment opportunities and developing these into a viable business
Academic background and/or business experience, having knowledge regarding value chain and the process of new drug development
University educated with a preference for postgraduate qualification, preferable to have Bio Science technologies (Biochemistry, Cell Technology) background
Selfstarter with the ability to work autonomously
Logical thinking
Team player
Proficient Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Curiosity for the latest technologies and the creation of new business
Business level of fluency in English
Some understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language would be advantageous

Salary:
£35,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
