    About the Role

    :

    The position will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal Property treaty business within our UKI & London Market portfolio.
    You will be a key contact for our clients and brokers so relationship building and management is an important area of the role.
    This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team. Together with our Client Management, Solutions and Transactions teams, you will contribute to the overall plan, objectives and initiatives.

    Daily Activities Include:


    • Reviewing reinsurance submissions and documents to determine eligibility, appetite and assess risk factors

    • Using Swiss Re's proprietary tools to analyse underwriting data, including loss history, exposure data, financial statements and market trends to build an informed decision to bind or decline in line with company guidelines

    • Calculating and negotiating appropriate premiums based on the risk assessment

    • Collaborating with other internal stakeholders such as client management, claims & reserving

    • Assist with portfolio steering and appetite refinement in order to maintain a sustainable and resilient portfolio

    About the Team:

    We are a team of 9 Client Underwriters looking after Property & Casualty London Market business, which comprises UK & Ireland Domestic and International Business written out of London and Bermuda. We consider ourselves a very dynamic team with loads of energy. We work together closely within the team and with our colleagues from other functions. The team embraces the flexibility that Swiss Re provides when it comes to the way we work.

    About You:

    We are searching for a strong communicator, able to build valuable relationships with external partners, who has outstanding problem-solving aptitude and creative approach. With strong interpersonal skills, you are a change agent who inspires others, coaches effectively and promotes teamwork. Self-aware, you have established trust through open, transparent communication and empowered others through effective knowledge sharing.


    • You have 3 or more years' experience in Property Reinsurance. Primary Property experience is also desirable.

    • You can demonstrate a deep understanding of UK and Ireland Property insurance and reinsurance markets

    • You have a proficient knowledge of (re)insurance contract wordings.

    • University degree or equivalent preferred.
