Description
Are you passionate about building a community to improve care for children with a brain tumour?A unique opportunity to join a fast-growing health organisation working on national transformational programmes, backed by the UK government and major cancer charities.
We are looking for a creative, personable and highly-organised individual to help establish and manage the paediatric arm of the Tessa Jowell Academy.
The Academy is a free national learning and networking platform with over 1,000 members that provides training, peer-learning and networking opportunities to NHS professionals working with patients with brain tumours.
The individual will join the Mission at a crucial point of growth, bringing together the paediatric brain tumour community to develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing UK children's neuro-oncology services.
They will design and deliver webinars and courses, establish professional networks and develop resources to share best practice, alongside NHS experts and charity partners.
The position is highly collaborative within a dynamic team, and the individual would work closely with the team to build on insights collected by the paediatric Centre of Excellence programme and the existing Adult Academy.
Experience in project management and exceptional communication skills and empathy are essential.

Work with the rest of the TJBCM team to design and set up the paediatric arm of the TJ Academy, building on the success of the established adult Academy
Lead the paediatric Academy to a high standard, facilitating the improvement of children's brain cancer treatment, care and research
Build and grow a community focused on upskilling, tackling inequities and sharing best practice to drive change
Lead expert committees and national networks of healthcare professionals to co-design and deliver solutions
Creatively design social media and marketing content
TJBCM designs and delivers a national portfolio of eight transformational programmes focused on research, precision medicine, improving patient care and training NHS staff.
Our work is funded and supported by the government through the NIHR, as well as ten different cancer charities.Over 90 NHS doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and scientists from across the UK work daily with the Mission to design and deliver its programmes, which are jointly delivered with its partner organisations.
The Mission is a small but growing organisation with six employees and a pool of research assistants to support the core team.
By joining the TJBCM, you will have the opportunity to become the seventh full-time employee in a successful, fast-paced, growing start-up with digital and data health programmes, with a unique purpose of improving treatment outcomes nationally.
The Tessa Jowell Academy is a free national learning and networking platform, connecting NHS brain tumour centres to collaborate and share excellence in treatment, research and care.
The Academy offers bespoke features and content to empower all NHS healthcare professionals to learn and network with peers, with the overall aim of elevating the standards of treatment and care nationally and improve the educational offering for professionals working with brain tumour patients.
Features include:
monthly workshops, courses, skills training, a peer to peer connect service, a national clinical trials finder, a library of shared resources and much more.
The Academy is currently only for professionals treating adults with brain tumours.
Once launched, they will independently lead on design and delivery of content, community management and continued development of the platform.

Creatively market new workshops, sessions and working groups across the TJBCM website and social media channels
Lead expert committees and national networks of healthcare professionals to co-design and deliver solutions to unmet needs
Run surveys, coordinate groups over different communication platforms
Programme management
Plan, create and update project timelines and documentation to ensure timely and successful delivery
Manage project scope and scheduling
Ensure efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones
Stakeholder Management
Provide ongoing support to other TJBCM programmes where needed, in particular the Adult Academy.
Help to grow the TJBCM size and impact and be part of a fast-growing team delivering measurable impact to cancer healthcare and research
We are looking for an adaptive, driven and creative Programme Manager who will help establish and grow the Tessa Jowell Academy (paediatrics).
They will have an aptitude for connection, empathy and building relationships.An interest in health and education is ideal, as well as a proven track-record in managing complex projects with a range of stakeholders.
Experience in project management with multiple stakeholders: experience in executing medium-scale projects from inception to completion.Experience working in health or scientific work environments
Experience working with the NHS, other healthcare or research organisations, children's organisations or charities
Experience delivering virtual events
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: demonstrable experience in writing engaging content for scientific audiences
Confidence with digital applications (Microsoft Suite, Teams/Zoom, Google Suite)
Experience with WordPress and Canva
Demonstrable experience in writing engaging content for healthcare professionals
MSc or PhD in biological, medical or social sciences with an interest in public health
