Portfolio Manager
Eden Brown Synergy is currently working in partnership with a Central Government Organisation based in London which is seeking to recruit a Portfolio Manager on a permanent basis.
The postholder will join the Finance, Portfolio and Performance Team which playsa leading role in delivering the strategy of the organisation Service through effective financial planning and control, monitoring organisational performance, and supporting the delivery of projects and programmes.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the Portfolio Risk, the Risk Register and related processes, to analyse and interpret data and proposals for risk and issue response and report relevant exceptions.
As a Portfolio Manager you will:
- Manage an Enterprise level risk register, providing analysis and tracking trends, presenting reports at JIB.
- Establish, manage and improve enterprise level controls, working with SE and PDS PMO colleagues to ensure there is clear view of data flows from enterprise level to project level, with clear escalation rules in order to identify and report control trendsand themes across the enterprise portfolio.
- Manage the Business case review process, including contributing to Enterprise level insight and reporting
- Work with SE and PDS PMO colleagues to develop and maintain relevant frameworks, guidance, tools and templates, and potentially deliver training as part of embedding the arrangements, for PMO processes and controls.
- Proactively engage with SE and PDS PMOs to identify risk appetite, dependencies, and any risks for escalation to the EPMO and JIB
Experience & Qualifications Required:
- Evidence of risk management including identification, assessment, management, tracking and reporting of risks in a complex and dynamic portfolio, programme or project environment.
- Excellent data analysis skills to understand the data and provide analysis of trends and themes, reporting and presentation skills, conveying complex information in a straightforward way to senior audiences.
- Highly effective organisational skills with the ability to identify and adapt to changing priorities, to work under pressure to tight deadlines and deliver to agreed targets.
