Open Ended Contract - Permanent: Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a full time, open ended Operations Assistant.


The Opportunity:


The post holder will be supporting the organisation, management and operation of the school finance function, ensuring a consistent and effective customer service to staff and students across the school.


The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of transaction support, financial processes oversight and the provision of financial information for a variety of stakeholders across the school.

They will be contributing to the continuous development and improvement of the school services function.


The post holder will actively support and contribute to the schools success and will be encouraged to also deliver ideas for continuous improvement opportunities as they arise.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) plus relevant work experience or School education to Standard grade or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of working and responding to queries and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. Confident in use of databases and reporting systems with the ability to understand and interpret quantities of data.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of the University's structure, processes and procedures, the business of the School, and the wider HE environment as necessary.
  • Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
