    Engineering Lead
    Glasgow

    As a Barclays Engineering Lead, you will work with the scrum teams and members from a central Performance Engineering team to test the performance of the systems, documenting issues and work with whomever it takes to identify root cause of any issues. This will be the ideal opportunity for someone self-motivated and results focused, who can drive the prevention of any significant performance problems from hitting Production at a large scale.

    What will you be doing?

    • Understanding the risk profile of change and ensuring that integrated testing is commensurate with that risk profile

    • Spearheading a team of ETL engineers and functional/non-functional testers

    • Participating in Roadmap planning, Backlog creation and Prioritization with Product Owners and Stakeholders

    • Being responsible for Resource management across Product PODs

    • Exploring metrics across the product, collaborating with Tech Lead and Team Lead to drive team performance

    • Raising and managing risks and issues in a timely manner in adherence to relevant standards

    • Providing multiple solutions and have the ability to choose the best course of action weighing up various factors that should be taken into consideration

    What we're looking for:

    • An ability to deliver to time, cost and quality parameters with pro-active management of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID)

    • Sound stakeholder management skills and Proven project management skills

    • Excellent leadership and communication skills

    • Experience communicating technical projects to non-technical stakeholders

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • An understanding of Microservice / API-oriented architectures/Cloud/Python

    • Experience with Data Engineering

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write and present a range of written materials (presentations, briefings, reports)

    • Experience working in an Agile environment
