An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Continuing Healthcare Team at Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit for an Senior Administrator Brokerage.

A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual is required to support the overall process in the Continuing Healthcare Team.

The role will be to deal with a variety of skills including ; Sourcing packages of care for patients. Liaising with service providers and next of kin.

Sending outcome letters and contracts, telephone calls and providing general support to the Clinical Team.


You will possess a broad and flexible range of skills including excellent communications skills both on the telephone and in writing.


You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team where you will be expected to contribute towards the Continuing Healthcare process.


We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent communication, inter-personal and organisational skills to work with the continuing healthcare team.

This is a busy team that supports the overall processes to ensure that patients/representatives have a positive and seamless experience.


Midlands and Lancashire CSU are looking to recruit a Senior Brokerage Administrator, for Continuing Healthcare your role is to provide the clinical team with administrative support; sourcing packages of care for patients and working closely with Care Agencies, District Nurses, Hospitals, Relatives and Local Authority Representatives.


Including some of the following tasks: Writing and dispatching routine letters Answering general queries by telephone Photocopying and scanning documents Obtaining information from the database. Inputting patient confidential information on the clinical database. Maintaining records, filing systems and electronic records. Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required.

You will also be expected to act as part of the wider administration team for Continuing Healthcare.

This is a busy and demanding role and therefore a good sense of humour and the ability to prioritise whilst multi-tasking is essential.

Act as a point of contact for the department, dealing with routine and specialist enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to stakeholders, referring to others as appropriate.

Ensure standard operating procedures are applied within the team, highlighting instances where these need to be reviewed or amended.

Ensure effective and timely collation and preparation of relevant documentation in support of service delivery.

To support clinical brokerage function in the setting up of care packages, as required.


Work within established policies, procedures, protocols and systems to ensure confidentiality of information, quality standards and performance as directed by the PHC Team.

Word processing and processing documents (faxing/scanning/photocopying) when required.

Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised, within defined policies and procedures to set timescales.

Have a flexible/adaptable approach to their work in order to meet
various deadlines.

Inputting into, monitoring and printing reports from computerised systems.

Support training of new staff.

To ensure compliance with all statutory and mandatory training.

The post holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.
