The Company's strategic ambition requires the delivery of Finance functional excellence to drive performance across AA including supporting Corporate Functions in execution of core disciplines and initiatives that deliver growth and improved financial performance.


Job Description:


  • The purpose of this role is to provide Finance specialist support to the Group Functions. The Finance Specialist will work with senior stakeholders providing functional expertise through delivery of highquality finance advisory support. Working closely with relevant Group Functions to drive and project manage required input and support and to add value that will assist in decisionmaking and prioritisation at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a key member of the corporate functions finance team that delivers Business partnering support to the Group Functions
  • Manage and influence senior group function stakeholders to understand business requirements, frame priorities and agree goals
  • Look to make effective use (and implement improvements) of processes and systems technologies in provision of finance support
  • Support Group Functions in delivery of workstream/project initiatives and facilitate effective performance review and management e.g. more effective Function quarterly performance reviews (QPRs), project prioritisation and measurement of project contributions, accurate budgeting and forecasting, other core finance services.
  • Demonstrate a thinking ability to analyse wideranging issues and design approaches to manage those issues
  • Provide analysis and deliver insight, linking financial information to Business and project plans to improve the understanding of group function activities on the broader business
  • Engage with Function Heads to facilitate the rollout of plans and priorities
  • Take an authority role where required to drive motivation and understand outputs on budgets, forecasts and project spend
  • Communicate success and learnings to the wider Finance team identifying areas where the corporate functions finance team can take the lead and reduce workload for other teams

People and Team/Leadership

  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior management and their teams, to be the first point of contact where Finance input is required
  • Provide leadership across finance related workstreams in the corporate functions area (and relevant others) to achieve business goals
  • Monitor the activities which involve other teams and appropriately intervene where required to ensure objectives are met.
  • Contribute to the broader business by working with others in such a way that it optimises the overall business results
  • Demonstrate behaviour in line with the Group's values, standards and a professional workplace

Skill Requirements for Role

  • Demonstrate a high level of skill in the creation of briefing materials and preparation of presentations.
  • Deliver presentations to senior management
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Qualifications
  • University degree or finance qualification or similar

Knowledge Requirements/Preferences for the Role

  • Core finance skillset including performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Problemsolving and planning ability in a prior role within Finance
  • Project Management experience
  • Expertise in SAP, SAP BW and Power BI
