Description
Purpose of the role:
To ensure building projects are undertaken competently and compliantly to ensure safety of occupants, users and residents is maintained at all times
To provide Contract Administration and Clerk of Works services for major construction, refurbishment and planned maintenance contracts, providing client agent representation on site monitoring compliance with specification and drawings, quality of workmanshipand safe working practices in accordance with health and safety policies, contract documents, construction regulations, statutory legislation and best practice
To undertake pre and post contract surveys and inspections on properties to identify condition, defects and remedial works required.
To ensure high standards of quality assurance, compliance and customer satisfaction across the Council's building and construction projects, whilst meeting service standards and financial targets.

- Health and Safety
- Structural Monitoring
General Responsibilities:
- Liaise with and respond to enquiries and complaints from Ward Members, Senior Managers and residents. Investigate and report thereon.
- Liaise with architects, electrical, mechanical and structural engineers, quantity surveyors and other building professionals such as Building Control, external consultants and Health and Safety managers.
- Liaise with Housing Managers regarding individual resident issues and / or large construction projects being undertaken in their community and Housing Lettings regarding progress on new build developments.
- Liaise with Housing's Leaseholder management team to ensure leaseholders are aware of proposed works and appropriate Leaseholder Consultation has been carried out in accordance with the Leasehold Reform Act
