    Cornerstone are currently looking for a Town Planning Specialist. The main purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with Head of Town Planning and Planning and Community Managers to deliver and implement Cornerstones Town & Country (T&C) Planning and Community Consultation policies, processes and governance. You will provide technical support to relevant Customer teams, Cornerstone teams and suppliers to maximise planning consent delivery across multiple programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provision of technical support and escalated issue resolution to regional planning resources so as to provide an effective planning "consultancy" service to Delivery Teams, Shareholders and Suppliers - addressing potential barriers to acquisition delivery and maximizing planning success
    • Continual Best Practice development, in collaboration with the Head of Town Planning and regional planning resources, of T&C Planning and Community Consultation policies, processes and governance through production and maintenance of Cornerstone Planning Manual and associated documents thereby providing an environment to maximize planning success
    • Assist the Head of Town Planning in delivering the Cornerstone Pubic Affairs Strategy to develop and define Government Relations, Planning and Stakeholder Engagement and to define strategies to develop positive relationships with key Local Authorities (including Combined Authorities) to address potential barriers and create a positive environment for deployment.
    • Implement the planning appeal process and governance with suppliers including monitoring, review and appointment of specialist appeals suppliers to maximize planning appeal success to aid acquisition delivery.

    Person Specification

    • Significant experience within telecommunications or similar industry with multiple interfaces both within and external to the company
    • Previous experience in managing external suppliers, setting KPIs and SLAs and benchmarking performance.
    • Previous experience in delivering against a set of key deliverables in a dynamic work environment
    • In-depth understanding of telecommunications acquisition processes, legislation, policy and guidance – particularly Town Planning and Health related issues.
    • Understanding of the external political environment and political developments as they affect telecommunications and mobile infrastructure – ability to identify threats and opportunities.
