- Deliver teaching within the academy (own subject), as required,modelling excellence in specialist SEN teaching.
- Support effective teaching and learning throughout the academy andmonitor and evaluate the individual progress made, effectively using benchmarksto track and set targets for improvements.
- Support and maintain an environment and a code of behaviour anddiscipline which promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning, andhigh standards of achievement.
- Support and maintain the mental health and wellbeing of the studentswhich promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning and high standardsof achievement.
- Help organise the curriculum and its assessment, working with theleadership team to monitor and evaluate it, in order to identify areas forimprovement.
- Ensure that literacy and numeracy progression is prioritised andtargeted across the whole school consistently.

- Involve colleagues in reviewing theSEND policy and collaborate on other related policies.
- Ensure that the academycarries out its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with anEducation, Health and Care Plan.
