Position:
Lead Tutor


Location:
London (South, East, West, North-West) with expected daily travel to FE providers across the area and access to the London office where required

Hours:
We would consider a range of contracts from 2-5 days per week Hours).

Contract:
Fixed term contract with flexible start date (September/October/November 2023) to end May 2024.


Salary:
£23,500 per year inc London weighting (based on a full-time contract, part time contracts will be pro-rated).

Closing date: 3rd July 2023 at 12pm

About the role:


The charity has an award-winning tuition programme that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to pass GCSEs in English or maths.

Small group tuition is proven to be the most effective intervention for improving outcomes, fast.

Students on the programme are more likely to move up at least 1 grade between the start and end of the course - with results twice the national average.


To help more students get further, the charity is seeking passionate and dynamic Lead Tutors, who will be responsible for delivering their bespoke tutoring resources at their partner colleges and sixth forms and supporting the Programmes team.

This is a fast-growing charity, so this role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ambitious and committed to improving social mobility and tackling educational inequality.


Key responsibilities will include:
*Delivering high quality tutoring sessions using the bespoke English and/or maths resources in our partner colleges and sixth forms.
*Being proactive in developing and improving your tutoring skills and contributing to the overall development of the charity.
*Maintaining registers for your sessions to ensure attendance and student progress is recorded accurately and is up to date.
*Other ad hoc admin duties as required to support the internal Programmes and Operations teams.


About you:
The ideal Lead Tutor will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector. Experience in education and programme delivery are highly desirable. You will have a commitment to the organisation's mission and values, including passionate about tacking educational inequality. You will have resilience and the ability to react to quickly changing priorities. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be proactive, enthusiastic with the ability to work independently.

Core requirements of the Lead Tutor include:
*Eligibility to work in the UK.
*Must share the organisation's commitment to Safeguarding and protecting the wellbeing of children and young people.
*Ability to travel to your placement colleges - please note, whilst not essential, it may be advantageous to have a UK driving license and access to a car.

Key skills of the Lead Tutor include:
*Minimum C grade in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent).
