have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Work Assistant in the Wider Safeguarding Team in Sedgemoor**.


This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.


We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic to support qualified Social Workers to provide a high quality service for all children and families we are supporting.


The team for the Sedgemoor area is based in
Bridgwater House in Bridgwater, and we offer flexible hybrid working, combining time spent with the teams in the office along with home working.


Here's what you can expect to be doing

  • Experience of working alongside Social Workers, and alternatively qualified Adult Focused Practitioners to support children and families.

  • Flexible working within our teams and we will consider part time, 9 day fortnight and other flexible working approaches.

A few things about you

Supporting Social Workers working with children and families, you will have the opportunity to support profound changes to a child's life, and help to keep children at home, safely, within their families where possible.


As a Social Work Assistant, you will not have statutory responsibility, but will work directly with children and families and complete tasks of gathering information, building relationships, supporting parents, so you will need to have good relationship-based skills.

You will also be responsible for inputting information onto an electronic record so require a good standard of written skills and ability to use technology.


Given the nature of the role, you will need to be prepared to spend the majority of your time in the office or with children and families.

You will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle as travel is required.

The salary range for this role is £21,968 to £24,054 per annum
